Victoria & Albert Museum: Village Fete

Village Fete

The V&A and Scarlet Projects' contemporary take on the traditional English fete.Over 30 of the most inventive and dynamic creative individuals working in the UK today will come together to create an extraordinary array of stalls offering games to play and products to win. Homemade jam, Splat the Rat and coconut shies will take on a whole new meaning.

Eat fish n chips with Alexandre Bettler, do a farm dance with Rob Ryan, play ping pong with People Will Always Need Plates, etch-a-sketch with Simon Kinnear, make a freaky vegetable at Peepshow's greengrocer's stall, do a body painting with Thomas Matthews, and tuck into Turnbull Grey's tuck shop.

Other stall holders include old favourites such as Tatty Devine, Mark Pawson, Lizzie Finn, Flyaways, Richard Shed and Sam Johnson, Daniel Eatock, Happily Ever After, Ed Carpenter, Poke, Digit, Carl Clerkin, Fibre, and Johnson Banks, who will be joined by designers new to the fete including Julia Lohman, Mook, Andre Klauser, Troika and Us & Us.Highlights include Scarlet Projects' Tombola - this year's star prize is a signed Convex Mirror designed by Sebastian Wrong for Establshed & Sons - and DJ Barry (aka Michael Marriott). And, back by popular demand, Daisy Daisy (aka Anthony Burrill and Malcolm Goldie) will be playing their best 'bad acid' hits live.

Bring the family on Saturday afternoon to have your face painted and enter your kids in the 'Dress as a Design Icon' fancy dress competition.Admission £1
