god hates shrimp?

This is a bizarre website about shellfish being wrong for humans to eat according to the bible. I cannot tell if it is real or not.

been a while

I have been thinking about life in the UK versus the US. I think the standard of living is higher in the US, but the attitudes and access to knowledge and media is much greater in the UK.

So which do I choose? A nice house and ignorance or a potting shed and a better awareness of world affairs?

Today the jury is still out.

friendship in the uk

I know this sounds like a broken record, but I don't understand Brits. All my "friends" in the UK and I have to heavily negotiate our interactions. It's never just natural and relaxed. Why is it so difficult? 'I like you, you like me. Let's hang out.' Oh no! There are so many structures. Since we work together, you can text me on the weekend, but calling is too weird. You can ask me out for a drink but you cannot invite me to your apartment for dinner. I don't get it. I know it is a different culture and I am trying to be understanding of that fact, but the process is exhausting.

I don't remember how many of my friends and I met, but I remember how my friend, Sarah, and I met. We were in philosophy together. Sarah walked in with a jingly anklet. I thought, she is so sweet and so in need of fashion advice. We quickly began talking. However, what sealed it was when my friend, Greg and I met up in the President's Garden to meet his new girlfriend. It was Sarah from philosophy. She asked me if I had ever been bush jumping. [Note: Bush jumping is literally that. You find sturdy bushes and jump into them.] It has been love ever since. See? It's so easy. Why cannot I form easy going friendships like that in the UK?

victoria and albert

Tonight we are going to the Victoria and Albert Museum. I am so excited! It is open until 10pm on Wednesdays.

The museum has fantastic exhibits and collections of paintings, furniture, textiles, fashion, photography, culture, etc.

Two other museums that excite me:
The National Portrait Gallery
The Tate Modern

today

Today I miss my friends in the US. I wish that I had a mysterious pot of money stashed away. I would fly home and visit with them for a week.

travel guide that you write

I found a website called World66. It is fantastic! It has destinations that are reviewed and practical information provided by people who have been there. As a member, you can add maps, pictures, reviews, etc. It is fantastic.

Also, if you own a handheld pda you can download city reviews to that, but that feature does cost money.

Please give it a look.
